2. What data we collect
We collect data you provide directly:
- Storage enquiries: name, email address, city, unit size, and any message you include
- Contact messages: name, email address, and message content
- Space-host interest: name, email address, optional phone number, county, approximate area, space type and size, access arrangements, camera readiness, expected price, and any message you include. We ask you not to provide an exact address, identity document or camera footage at this stage.
- Renter interest: name, email address, optional phone number, county, approximate area, space needed, timing, duration, access frequency, broad goods category, value band, willingness to use verified private space, and any message you include. We ask you not to provide an exact address, identity document or detailed inventory.
We also collect data automatically when you visit:
- Analytics data: pages visited, time on site, referring URL, browser type — collected via Matomo Analytics, self-hosted in Ireland
- Server logs: IP address, access times, pages requested — retained for security purposes for 90 days
3. How we use your data
- Storage enquiry data is used to connect you with self-storage operators in your area
- Contact messages are used to respond to your enquiry
- Space-host interest data is used to assess demand for a possible neighbour-storage pilot and to contact you about that pilot
- Renter-interest data is used to assess compatible demand for the proposed pilot and to contact you about that pilot
- Analytics data is used to understand how the site is used and improve it
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of: (a) your consent when submitting an enquiry or contact form; (b) our legitimate interest in operating and improving this website.
5. Data sharing
Storage enquiry data (name, email, city, unit size) may be shared with self-storage operators in your selected city for the purpose of providing you with quotes. Host- and renter-interest data is not published, matched or shared with the other side unless we first explain the proposed pilot and obtain any further permission required. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Analytics data is not shared with third parties.
6. Space-host interest and camera data
The interest form asks only whether you could meet a proposed entrance-camera requirement. It does not ask for camera login details, live access or footage. If a pilot proceeds, camera processing, access, retention, signage and incident-handling rules will be provided separately before participation. Registering interest is not consent to future camera monitoring.
7. Renter-interest data
The renter waitlist records approximate demand only. It does not create a match, booking, insurance cover or storage agreement. We do not request an exact home address, identity document, key code or detailed list of valuables at this stage.
8. Data retention and storage
Enquiry, contact, host-interest and renter-interest data is retained for up to 12 months from receipt unless consent is withdrawn sooner. Form backups are stored outside the public website directory. Analytics data is retained for 24 months.
9. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
